About this Opportunity
Suncrest is seeking a volunteer with a qualified pet of their own, to make scheduled visits to our patients. During the visit, your calm, and quiet pet will be held, cuddled, and talked to. Most hospice patients are unable care for their pets, and desperately miss them. Studies have shown that such visitations provide emotional outlets for patients, and lead to increased socialization, relaxed mood, and an overall reduction of blood pressure, as well as boosting the general health of the people we serve. Any prospective pet therapy volunteer will need to be certified and have a pre-trained animal.
