About this Opportunity
Enhance your experience with horses. Support therapeutic equine education programs for children with special needs. Become a valued member of the Green Chimneys community as a volunteer. At Green Chimneys, students with special needs learn to ride, care for and connect with horses as part of a comprehensive nature-based education experience and treatment plan. And as a PATH International Premier Accredited Center, we are committed to providing quality equine-assisted educational programs. Volunteers work alongside staff, directly support the care of equines, and interact with students.
We are recruiting volunteers to join our Horse Barn team to:
- Assist with riding classes.
- Maintain paddocks and stalls.
- Contribute to animal care.
As a special education school and residential treatment center, all Green Chimneys volunteers are required to be at least 18 years of age; and have successfully completed the application process which includes a background check and fingerprinting. Prior experience with equines is not necessary; training is provided.
