About this Opportunity

This role is like being “on-call,” as needs can come up with little notice. Tasks may include reading, prayer, playing soft music, or quietly sitting with the patient. When a vigil is needed, a staff member will contact you. If you’re unavailable, no problem - we’ll ask the next volunteer. If you are available, we’ll provide the patient’s details and confirm how long you can stay so we can coordinate coverage. If we know a patient may be nearing transition, we’ll send a group message to the Vigil team to check availability over the next few days.

All Vigil Volunteers receive training on what to expect and how to provide support during a vigil.
