About this Opportunity

Partners for Youth with Disabilities (PYD) empowers youth with disabilities to reach their full potential and become active, confident members of their communities. Our programs build disability pride, leadership skills, healthy relationship skills, community involvement, and ensure that youth are successful in school and in seeking employment.

Mentoring (ages 12-24) is a friendship-based program designed to help young people with disabilities connect with a caring peer or adult mentor above the age of 18. Youth are motivated to meet their full potential for personal development through activities with their mentors, such as exploring the city, attending museums or sporting events, practicing using public transportation, and so much more!

We’re seeking individuals who are 18+ years old, interested in volunteering their time to support youth, committed to maintaining regular contact with their mentees throughout the year, and able to complete a background check.
