New volunteers will be trained by receiving a day of general orientation with a mentor.Your meet and greet will include a background check.
Work with school groups with about 10 kids in a group and about the 3rd grade.
- Mana Craft:Direct activity about Mana, a past immigrant student who came to Cedar Rapids. Content information will be provided.
- Artifact Detective: Work with students in small groups to discover what is in their bag, answering a series of questions, then presenting the object to their classmates. Content information will be provided.
- Sleger Immigrant HomeSchool Tour:Students can learn about items in the home.
- Orloj Clock Tower Review: Composer songs they will hear, the art carved wooden immigrant stories, and the tie with the Orloj in Prague, Czech Republic.
