Purpose: To enrich the visitor experience by connecting visitors to life long-ago. Learn the story of the Sleger immigrant home and give tours to the public by providing an engaging and interactive experience.
Become part of one of the best experiences we have to offer our visitors!
- Greet visitors and share in the history of Czech and Slovaks in Cedar Rapids
- Give small groups of visitors (up to 15 people) tours of the Sleger Immigrant Home on the hour and the half hour
- Answer questions as needed
Qualifications:
- Willing to learn about the history and culture of the Czech and Slovaks
- Willing to learn talking points for the tour
- Physically able to lead guests out to the house
- Must be outgoing and comfortable talking to small groups
- Ability to speak clearly and listen when visitors want to reminisce
Commitment required: 3-4 hours / shift
