What does the organization need?
Purpose:
To raise awareness and assist with prevention of sexual assault.
Responsibilities:
To facilitate conversations within the community over various topics in relation to sexual assault.
What does the organization have in place to support the volunteer?
Training:
30-hour Victim Counselor Training, provide resources, mentoring, and support.
How will this help the organization?
Impact of assignment:
To open up conversations within the community to raise awareness about the services of Riverview Center as well as prevent sexual violence from occurring. It will also raise awareness over topics such as sexual assault.
Benefits to volunteer:
Development in counseling, networking, increase public speaking skills, gain experience in victim services.
For the volunteer
Qualifications:
For individuals 16 and over. No experience is needed, we will provide training. Qualifications include empathy, communication skills, and patience. Background checks will be required upon completion of the training.
