Patient Care Volunteer

The Patient services Volunteer will be responsible for providing patient services support services to patients and their families, to the professional staff, and to the organization.The patient services volunteer will have a special commitment to the patients and families at the most difficult time in their lives.The patient services volunteer will provide essential support in direct patient care, support for family members, office assistance, and many other areas.Patient services volunteers must embody the essence of hospice philosophy, and are essential to the successful operation of any hospice program.Patient services volunteers may choose the area in which they prefer to function and the hours they are willing to donate.The patient services volunteer must possess the abiity to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.Provide emotional support to patients and familiesProvide practical support to patients and families (including household tasks, cooking, yard work, grocery shopping, etc.)Provide respite for caregivers
