Seattle World School: In Class Support

Kandelia works with closely with Seattle Public Schools to provide support in class supports for Teachers, Instructional Assistants, and Administrators atSeattle World School.Volunteers with language skills are especially helpful to teachers. Volunteers will do various tasks during their time as an in class tutor. Volunteers will work closely withSWSstaff and need to be flexible to fit the needs of the teachers. Somedays might include working in small groups,while some days might be tutoring students one on one.

Subjects include:

• English, Lit support, Geometry, Algebra, US History, World History

Volunteers will:

• Provide academic and behavioral support to students as needed and as directed by the teacher
• Connect and develop meaningful relationships with students
• Establish and maintain effective, positive working relationships with students, staff, and other volunteers
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students by exhibiting a genuine, caring attitude
