Impact

The community that Horn of Africa Services serves has many obstacles to overcome -- learning a new language, adapting to a new culture, and finding jobs in a tough job market, as well as preserving their culture and values. In particular, parents have the challenge of ensuring that their children receive a good education, when they themselves may have very little formal education and are low-income. Our volunteers support and empower immigrants and refugees in overcoming these challenges and building better lives for their families. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you would have the opportunity to become a mentor and leader, impacting students' education and futures as well play a big role in increasing the organizations capacity to expand its services for the community it serves.
