Fundraising/Development Volunteer

Do you want to make an impact on the lives of children and their family? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that increases your network? If so, Denise Louie Education Center (DLEC) is the organization for you! We seek to promote success in school and community, DLEC provides quality, multi-cultural early childhood education services to children and their families. Our goals are to prepare children for success in kindergarten and support family self-sufficiency by providing access to resources.

The development volunteer will work alongside the Development Coordinator assisting him/her with work related to donors, in-kind donations, grants, and events. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Researching prospective donors
• Donor outreach
• Procurement for auction
• Data entry and
• Other duties as assigned

This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, gain experience with events, and learn more about the non-profit world.

Volunteer Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Some knowledge of fundraising and development
• Proficient with web applications (not design related) and ability to navigate websites
• Work autonomously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Quick learner
• Detail oriented

We are looking for someone who can volunteer around 3-10 hours a week.
