About this Opportunity
Activities
Take in some SUN on the Green River trail and learn about wildlife and native plants while picking up litter. This educational stroll will help get microplastics out of the river and into the trash where they belong.
Litter is an issue for everyone. Not only is an eye sore but litter is dangerous for our watershed and wildlife, it is expensive and can be hazardous. Overtime litter breaks down, releasing chemicals into the land and water, in turn our environment becomes toxic. You can make a difference and be part of the solution, join Green Tukwila staff for a Walk & Talk, Litter Clean Up on the river or local park and learn about microplastics, native plants, the watershed and things you can do at home to protect natural areas and ensure a healthy future for all!
The trail is paved and flat.
All ages OK
What to Bring
Dress for the weather, some parts of the trail are in full sun so a hat and/or sunglasses can be really helpful. Wear good walking shoes and bring a water bottle and gloves (if you want gloves). We recommend a backpack; you will be using both hands for clean up.
Green Tukwila will provide bags and grabbers, so you do not need to touch litter.
