Spanish-Speaking Companion Volunteer

Providence Elder Place is a unique and innovative program that supports older adults in staying healthy, independent, and connected within their communities for as long as possible.

Were currently seeking a kind-hearted volunteer to visit one of our lovely seniors who would truly benefit from Spanish-speaking companionship. She lives in an Adult Family Home, is very social by nature, but feels isolated due to language barriers with other residents. Though she has mild cognitive impairment, she enjoys conversation and would cherish your time and presence.

What Youll Do:

• Spend quality time chatting in Spanish
• Offering companionship and emotional support
• Help reduce feelings of isolation through meaningful connection

Even just one hour every other week can make a world of difference. Schedules are flexible, choose what works best for you and your companion. And yes, youre welcome to bring a buddy!

• Kind, patient, and empathetic individuals
• Reliable and flexible volunteers
• Age 18+

Volunteer Requirements:

To ensure a safe and supportive environment, volunteers must complete:

• A Volunteer Application
• Background Screening
• Medical Screening
