Are you looking for a volunteer role where you can see the difference you are making? Do you want to use your time in a life-saving way?

Caregivers of all ages need your support. They don't need you to clean, provide care or take care of their loved one's medical needs, but the do need a break so that they can continue to provide those things for their loved ones. That's where getting a break two hours a week or four hours twice a month can be life-saving. The volunteer is there for companionship and supervision because it is no longer safe to leave that person alone in the home. If we don't support caregivers it can have an impact on us all with higher taxes due to health care costs, we lose a piece of our humanity and we might just lose a fellow community member. You don't need special skills just an ability to keep an eye on someone so they are safe and maybe even have conversations together or enjoy each other's company.

There are needs that all community members can support and it can be done during the day, evening or weekend hours. What a wonderful hands-on way to teach your family about compassion and community. Engage them in real life.
