Food Shelf volunteers needed

We have a pet food shelf at our Minneapolis Resource Center (2501 Minnehaha Ave). We see about 1,000 households a month, who rely on our support in order to keep their pets. We distribute pet food, supplies, and host multiple low-cost vetting clinics each month.

We need volunteers on Tuesday and Thursday evenings each week, as well as Saturday during the day. Volunteers guide shoppers through the food shelf, helping them choose pet food and supplies that are the best fit for their needs. Duties also include restocking shelves.

After volunteers are more familiar with our operation, we also have opportunities to work at the front desk, checking in shoppers.

We hold 45-minute training sessions that lead right into a shift so volunteers can see on their first day what a shift is like. Once a volunteer is trained at that first shift, they can pick and choose when to sign up.
