About this Opportunity

Parents and guardians can expect the highest quality learning and care for their children ages 16 months to 5 years with year-round enrollment at Wilders Child Development Center (CDC). Our staff and teachers continually recognize and strive to meet the diverse needs, abilities, interests, and cultures of children and families, where each person is valued and respected as a contributor in our classroom environment. You can join this dynamic team!

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who cares about young childrens social, emotional and cognitive development to help provide educational activities and support kids one-to-one, in small group settings, and in the full classroom. The schedule is for a weekly or bi-weekly role with morning or late afternoon options Monday-Friday for a 2-hour shift.

Qualifications:

  • Complete a background check (Wilder covers the cost); youth must complete a parent/guardian form.
  • Experience and/or passion for working with kids.
  • Be 16 years or older.
  • Ability to interact with and assist people of varying backgrounds, cultures and identities, including race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, ability, gender, gender expression, religion, etc.
  • Be self-directed and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Helpful demeanor and friendly.
  • Patience while working with young children.
  • Highly respectful of confidentiality.
  • Dependable and on time.

Time requirements and location:

  • Total time requirement: Minimum 3-month commitment to a weekly 2-hour shift
  • Days of the week: Flexible depending on volunteer availability Monday to Friday options weekly or bi-weekly morning or late afternoon
