About this Opportunity
As a COMPANION VOLUNTEER, you'll visit hospice patients in your community. Provide social interaction. Give caregivers a break. Share musical talents. Work on legacy projects. Offer a comforting presence. Honor a life. Make an impact.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS A BUSY STUDENT?
- Real life experience. Work directly with hospice patients and their families. Learn about the end of life process and how to best support people during an emotional time.
- Flexible schedule. Commit to a minimum of four hours a month, typically divided into 2-4 visits/month, at a time convenient for you.
- In-depth training + continuing education opportunities. You'll complete a self-paced, virtual training which overviews many aspects of end of life and hospice care. No prior experience necessary.
- Resume booster. Our volunteer services team loves to help you find ways to talk about your volunteer experience and transferable skills.
LOCATION: Our hospice services are provided wherever one calls home, which could include a private home or care community, such as assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facilities.

**We are open to turning this volunteer role into an internship, should you need one. We have had many students do this in the past and are happy to work with you to meet whatever requirements you have.
