Friendly Visitors

Spectrum Health Visiting Nurse Friendly Visitors are CHAMPIONS for seniors who are isolated and lonely in their homes. Our volunteers visit with clients that have very few opportunities to get out of their home and connect with their community. Without that connection, they often feel discouraged and lose their sense of "purpose" and desire to embrace or find commonality with others. These seniors need friendly connection...someone who cares to hear their stories, and walk with them in friendship. Activities vary specific to clients...you can talk, play games, take a walk, cook together, read for clients and more. This is a very "individual" driven type of volunteering and schedules are completely flexible and tailored to meet the needs of the client and associated volunteers.
