About this Opportunity

Purpose: To provide support to survivors of sexual violence during the forensic rape examination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete training process
  • Sign up for weekly on-call shifts
  • Respond to SANE activation while on-call
  • Provide advocacy through the medical process
  • Complete and return documentation in a thorough and timely matter
  • Attend quarterly volunteer meetings

Time commitment: 12 hours/1 shift per week (based on volunteer's schedule)

Training:

  • SANE orientation
  • Site Visit
  • Webinars
  • Continuing education

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate and empowering advocacy
  • Willingness to seek additional education and training
  • Basic knowledge of domestic and sexual violence (can be learned during training)
  • Sufficient problem solving skills
  • Capability to commit to volunteer for at least 1 year
