Front Desk Volunteers

A vital link between the history of the Moss and its visitors are the Front Desk, or Visitor Services Volunteers. These volunteers greet visitors as they arrive, take admission fees, work in the gift shop, operate multiple digital devices, and share the history of the artifacts displayed around the entrance while visitors wait for their tour. Theirs is the first face a visitor will see when they arrive at the Moss Mansion!

Shift hours vary with seasonal tour operations and can be mornings in the summer or afternoons year-round with weekday and weekend shifts available.

The schedule is set a month in advance (following a training period). We typically ask tour volunteers to work one shift per week, but we can offer more or less depending on your availability. Shifts occur 11:30AM-4PM every day except Tuesdays (when we are closed) during our regular season. Summer shifts are 9:30AM-1PM and 12:30PM-4:00PM Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, and 11:30-4PM Sundays.
