About this Opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity for different generations of people to interact. We thought it would be very productive to have a student/students ask some of our clients for advice. We have clients who love to share their expertise on certain subjects. Someone could ask a client for advice on things such as hobbies, school, careers, or just being an adult. A student volunteer can come one time, or multiple times to interact with different clients. They are welcome to stay longer to help out with our other day activities. The best ages for this opportunity are ages 16-18. If a student is a few years younger, they would need a parent/chaperone to be with them while they are here.
Winter Growth is an Adult Daycare, as well as an Assisted Living. Our daycare runs Monday-Friday from 10 am-3 pm. We include stimulating activities that our clients and residents can enjoy. Our services are designed to meet the needs of older and disabled adults; many who have a form of dementia.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the students parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
