PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY -- STUDENTS MUST READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS PROVIDED TO REGISTER/APPLY TO VOLUNTEER AT ONE SPECIFIC SCHOOL SITE

The Division of Title I is excited to announce the return of student volunteers for the 2025 ELO summer program! This is a great opportunity for students interested in a career in teaching and students looking for a highly engaging, rewarding, and exciting volunteer opportunity to expand their experiences.

ELO SAIL Student volunteer opportunities are open to all rising 7th-12th grade students. The program runs from July 7th to August 1st, 2025, Monday through Friday, for 4.5 hours daily. Depending on the school's bell time, the program hours will be 8:30-1:15 or 9:30-2:00. Volunteers must be available for at least 15 of the 20 days of the program.

Student volunteers are welcome to utilize the MCPS bus transportation provided to students within each school's normal catchment area. Volunteers are provided Breakfast and Lunch daily, free of charge, if they choose.

NEW FOR 2025 - Each ELO school site is using one of the following two models to recruit student volunteers for their program:

  • Model A - Student volunteers must respond to the school site's specific opportunity posting on the Montgomery County Volunteer Center website AND complete the Google Form provided in the opportunity posting to register/apply. This is a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE process.
  • Model B - Student volunteers must contact the program coordinator at the school site to express interest in volunteering with their program.
