About this Opportunity
The Texas Floods are the largest disaster in decades. You are invited to send your messages of hope for healing to the families who have been torn apart by the loss of their children.
1. Create beautiful cards with your message of sympathy and support, "Thinking of You." Sign the card's message: "Teen or Child" in Maryland or Virginia. Do not write your last name.
1 hour SSL Credit upon approval for 15 hand-written messages on cards.
2. Draw or paint a picture of beauty and and love for these families.
1 hour SSL Credit upon approval.
3. Help assemble the Texas shipment by collecting cards, counting them in packs of 50, placing in large envelopes, and writing the addresseson packages for shipping.
1 hour of SSL Credit per hour of time spent on task: packing and labeling in packages of 100 cards each. Packing and shipping will be done in a public place to be shippedby FedExKinkos in Germantown.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the students parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. This service activity is designed to be completed within the safety of the students home.
