About this Opportunity
We are seeking a volunter VISITOR INFORMATION STATION (VIS) ATTENDANT in Mena, Arkansas
Greet visitors at VIS, located on the east end of the Talimena National Scenic Byway, providing friendly service and recreational information to visitors to the Ouachita National Forest. Duties include giving out both verbal and written recreation information, keeping simple records, and some light trash pickup.
The Visitor Information Station is open from the first of March until the middle of November. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Out of town Volunteer Hosts usually stay for 1 to 2 months and volunteerĀ 4 days a week. Several days of the week, volunteers come from the community.
The station is located 1 mile north of downtown Mena Arkansas and 10 miles from Queen Wilhelmina State ParkĀ on Arkansas State Highway 88.
An RV space with full hookups, picnic table, Bar-B-Q, and fire ring is provided.
