About this Opportunity
Volunteer will assist the National Park Service (NPS) mainly with the taking and assembling of high quality (resolution) still and/or action images within Haleakal? National Park. Using your own equipment, take photographs of native flora and fauna, special events, points of interest, popular overlooks, and of park staff and partners working in the field. Photographs will become property of National Park Service and may be used in a variety of outreach materials and online (website and/or social media). Volunteer will also be responsible for the development and editing of various (existing or newly acquired) photographs and other image media related to the park using your own editing software. Additional work may consist of searching and securing images and/or related graphics from internal and external sources and photographic projects as deemed necessary by the VIP Coordinator. Volunteer must be able to travel to open areas in the park in their own vehicle or on foot on their own time. Please be sure to stay on trails and only access areas that are open to the general public.
NOTE: All images taken during VIP work shifts immediately become the property of the National Park Service; photography volunteers will not be allowed to impose copyright and/or trademark status to any image that is taken on VIP time.
