About this Opportunity
**POSITIONS AVAILABLE BEGINNING SUMMER 2021** Specific start date unknown at the current time.
Spring through fall at Savannah NWR is a busy time, and we need volunteers more than ever! Due to the size of the visitor center grounds, we are looking for folks who are willing to help with groundskeeping activities such as mowing and weeding. Temperature and humidity are typically high during this time, so keep that in mind before applying for the position. We also host a number of educational programs for area children attending summer camps, and rely on our summer volunteers to assist with those programs, either by conducting an activity or being a group leader. Some days, or parts of days, will also be spent staffing the front desk of our visitor center and selling items out of the adjacent nature store, which is managed by our Friends Group. Aside from these reoccurring duties, many other opportunities arise that our volunteers may get involved with. Our goal is to accommodate the interests and utilize the skills of our volunteers, while at the same time, meeting the needs of the refuge. We are looking for volunteers who are easy going, flexible, eager to learn, and enjoy working with people.
