About this Opportunity
Do you have an outgoing personality and want to use it to help others learn about President Jimmy Carter? Volunteer one or more days to be a greeter at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site! We are currently looking for optimistic, personable, and energetic volunteers to work the front desk at the Plains High School Visitor Center. Chosen candidates must learn a short introductory speech about the museum and be able to provide visitors with information about the site and surrounding areas of interest. Occasionally, the volunteer will need to work the museum bookstore, but will be given proper training before any task is assigned.
Volunteers may be required to pass a federal background investigation.
Plains, GA is home to the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. Join the volunteer program of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site and help preserve his wholesome and down-to-earth upbringing, sense of social responsibility, and compassion towards all men and women. Our goal is to educate visitors about President Carter’s rural beginnings, his time in office, and the contributions he has made to humanity in the years following his presidency. By volunteering with the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, you will have the unique opportunity to form a bond with this outstanding community while simultaneously helping others learn how a modest young man became President of the United States.
