About this Opportunity

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta.

Event Date: Thursday, October 30, 2025

Shift Time: 3:30pm-6:30pm (Flexible times available)

Location: 3100 Steeles Ave E #605, Markham ON L3R 8T3

Event Overview:

Join us for Halloween Fun Treats & Games – an exciting time to relax, play some fun interactive games and meet new friends! This event features Halloween-themed group games, face painting and more! Come out and support the community and youth!

We’re seeking enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to help make the event a success!

Volunteers will assist with various event needs, including:

Crowd Control: Helping manage flow and ensuring safety in high-traffic areas

Activity Stations: Running or assisting with Halloween-themed games and activities

Safety Guidance: Providing clear instructions on event safety and procedures to attendees

General Support: Helping with setup, cleanup, and keeping the event area tidy

Join in and enjoy the fun while volunteering!

Ideal Volunteers Are:

Friendly and approachable

Able to follow instructions and adapt to changing needs during the event

Reliable and punctual

We are seeking volunteers for the following roles:

  • Managing the game stations
  • Tracking attendee participation
  • Face painting
  • Hosting the Spin-the-Wheel-of-Misfortune activity
  • Preparing and distributing snacks

Who We're Looking For:

✔ Minimum age: 12

✔ Able to independently arrive to work on time

✔ Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn

✔ Can commit to scheduled time of event

✔ Fluency in English

✔ Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks

Bonus Skills:

✔ Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English considered an asset
