Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Senior Instructional Designer to develop impactful learning content for parents and caregivers. In this role, you will design educational materials that help families support their children’s academic, emotional, and personal development. You will also provide guidance to junior content creators and volunteers as needed. This is a flexible, fully remote role ideal for someone who wants to use their professional expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop parent-focused educational resources
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to understand parent needs and program goals
- Translate complex topics into clear, culturally sensitive, and accessible content
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.)
- Ensure content is inclusive, engaging, and aligned with MAP’s mission
- Provide mentorship and feedback to junior content creators or volunteers
Qualifications
- Experience in instructional design, adult education, or related fields
- Background in creating learning content for parents, families, or adult learners
- Strong communication and writing skills with attention to tone, empathy, and clarity
- Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills
- Familiarity with nonprofit work or family support services (preferred)
- Passion for mentorship, education, and family empowerment
Commitment
- Volunteer role, approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Weekly virtual team meetings (based on availability)
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling
