Dispensary Nurse Volunteer (Acting Pharmacist Role)

Are you an nurse looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community? At Lakeland Volunteers In Medicine, a free medical clinic, we are able to dispense medications at no cost to our patients through a state-approved dispensary license. This special license allows licensed nurses to serve in a role similar to that of a pharmacist - reviewing, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions under our clinical protocols.

We are currently seeking Nurse volunteers to assist in this capacity. You do not need prior pharmacy experience - we'll provide training and support. This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients who otherwise would go without essential medications.

Volunteer Role Highlights:

• Dispense free prescriptions under our clinic's dispensary license
• Support patients by ensuring they receive proper instructions and guidance
• Collaborate with our clinical team in a compassionate, community-based setting
• Flexible shifts available (only four hours a week makes an impact!)

Who can volunteer?

• Active Florida-Nursing license (retired nurses also welcome)
• Individuals who enjoy patient interaction and want to serve their community
