Position Overview: Gender Freedom Society is seeking passionate and dedicated people to serve as a Policy Reaserchers, focusing on issues affecting the transgender/GNC community. Policy Researchers play a crucial role in advancing our advocacy efforts by raising awareness about transgender rights and promoting policies that support the needs of transgender individuals.

Responsibilities:

Policy Research: Conduct research on local and national policies affecting the transgender community, including healthcare access, legal rights, employment discrimination, and social services.

Draft research papers, policy briefs, and backgrounders to support advocacy or strategic goals.

Translate policy information into clear, actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain and manage databases, literature reviews, and policy tracking systems.

Legislative Advocacy: Monitor legislative developments related to transgender rights and work to influence policymakers through advocacy meetings, public hearings, and legislative advocacy strategies.

Monitor developments in relevant policy areas, including legislation, regulation, and public discourse.

Qualifications:

Passion for social justice and a commitment to advancing transgender rights and equality.
Strong understanding of issues affecting the transgender community, including healthcare access, legal rights, employment discrimination, and social stigma.
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Experience in advocacy, community organizing, or related fields is preferred but not required.
