Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of children? SASA is looking for a Volunteer (unpaid) Mentoring Team Co-Leader to assist the mentorship team in facilitating the development and running of our new mentoring program. This position is well-suited for someone seeking to enhance their experience in program management and non-profit work. We are looking for candidates with a passion for accessibility to higher education, especially in the field of Ancient Studies. They must be flexible, adaptive, and comfortable working independently as new projects and tasks emerge.
Position Description & Responsibilities:
As Mentoring co-leader, you will work as part of the Mentoring Team to develop SASA's Mentoring Program for high school and early undergraduate students. The main goal of this program is to introduce the students to the mentoring process and to empower them to make educated choices about pursuing higher education in the field of Ancient Studies. The Mentoring co-team leader will help develop the platform for the program, which will include research and creation of the program materials and the development of in-house workflow procedures. Once the program begins, this person will assist in ensuring the program's smooth running and co-hosts events. The co-team leader will also assist in overseeing the interns and volunteers that make up our Mentoring team.
Examples of responsibilities include:
- Assisting with developing process workflow and procedures
- Research assignments as assigned
- Assisting with creating materials for the program
- Attending meetings with other Mentoring Team Leader
- Co-organizing events for the program
- Assisting with creating advertising materials for the program
