Shopper, Mail Assistant and Community Inclusion Buddy Need for Man with Blindness

A local fellow who is legally blind is interested in having a buddy for community inclusion activities, reading, sorting his mail and overall friendly visiting. Despite legal blindness he still loves video games and Wii, enjoys cooking and generally making new friends. If you have ever wondered what it might be like to work with a person who is blind, this is a great opportunity!

Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

• a desire to help others;

• a pleasant demeanor;

• a good reading/speaking voice;

• average reading skills;

• organizational or planning abilities;

• a good driving record;

• a clear criminal history;

• two references

• access to a car with proof of insurance;

a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage
