Position Summary

As a Volunteer Board Member of C.H.L.M.S Medi-Helpz Foundation, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to improve access to healthcare resources and support for underserved, under resourced and marginalized communities. You will contribute your time, expertise, and passion to help guide our strategic direction, ensure effective governance, and champion our values of equity, compassion, and community-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight to support the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals
  • Attend and actively participate in board meetings (typically held quarterly])
  • Serve on committees and take on special assignments as needed
  • Assist in setting policies, reviewing programs, and monitoring organizational performance
  • Advocate for the organization within your network to increase visibility and support
  • Support fundraising efforts through outreach, networking, and, when appropriate, personal contributions
  • Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability
  • Collaborate with fellow board members and the executive team to assess and respond to healthcare resource needs in the community

Qualifications

  • A deep commitment to equitable access to healthcare and the mission of the C.H.L.M.S Medi-Helpz Foundation
  • Experience in healthcare, public health, nonprofit leadership, advocacy, or related fields is highly valued
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to leverage personal and professional networks for the benefit of the organization
  • Ability to commit to board meetings and committee work
