Position Overview:
The Health Informatics Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching foundational courses on integrating technology with healthcare, focusing on managing health data, improving healthcare delivery, and understanding informatics systems.
Location: Remote
Start Time: Jan 6, 2025
Time Commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Simulation Support: Assist in conducting virtual simulations and case studies on electronic health records, health data analytics, and cybersecurity in healthcare.
- Teaching Support: Lead online discussions, facilitate group projects, and assist with course materials on topics like health information systems, interoperability, and data governance.
- Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain accurate student records.
- Student Assistance: Provide clarification and support for students’ understanding of informatics concepts, tools, and best practices in healthcare.
- Resource Development: Help create educational materials, including case studies, presentations, and guides on health informatics tools and software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
- Strong understanding of health informatics systems, electronic health records, and data analytics in healthcare.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in an accessible manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
