Position Overview:

The Nutrition and Dietetics Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching introductory courses on human nutrition, dietary planning, and the role of nutrition in maintaining health and preventing disease.

Location: Remote

Start Time: Jan 6, 2025

Time Commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

    • Simulation Support: Assist in virtual simulations that focus on dietary counseling, meal planning, and addressing nutritional deficiencies.
    • Teaching Support: Facilitate online discussions, and group activities, and assist with course materials covering topics such as nutritional science, public health, and dietetics.
    • Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain student records.
    • Student Assistance: Provide clarification and support for students’ understanding of nutritional concepts, dietary guidelines, and their applications.
    • Resource Development: Help develop educational materials, including case studies and nutritional assessment tools.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
    • Strong understanding of human nutrition principles and dietary planning.
    • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate complex nutrition concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
