About this Opportunity
COLLEGE STUDENTS! Can you spare an hour for an elderly hospice patient? In return, you can gain invaluable patient interaction experience in the healthcare field!
CorsoCare Hospice is seeking compassionate, empathetic college students who are willing to give their time and supportive presence by visiting hospice patients in facility settings and occasionally private homes in Green.
You can share your time with our patients in many ways including reading to them, taking walks, playing cards, watching TV, chatting or some other low-key activity the patient feels up to doing. Sometimes just sitting with them is enough.
You will be provided ongoing one-on-one staff support throughout your service with us and will be invited to voluntary education opportunities and appreciation events.
If you have any questions, or need further information, please contact Nikki Gerber, Volunteer Recruiting Specialist/Administrative Assistant, at (248) 260-8257 or [email protected].
"Volunteers comfort with their presence. One does not need to know all the right words to say but the ability to just be present." -Gina Davis
