Human Guides Needed in Your Community!

Human Guides are needed in your community to assist individuals with blindness to navigate around town! It is the real life version of those online aps you have heard about. Take a minute and think of the times during your day when you don't need to see.... waiting....yup when you are asleep, that's about it! But you can help by becoming a guide for shopping, assisting with reading and sorting mail or the occassional social activity. It's so easy to be helpful and you can really make a difference with this opportunity. You can make your own schedule (as little as 2 to 4 hours a month can be very helpful) and most matches are within 5 to 7 miles of home or work. Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

·a desire to help others;

·a pleasant demeanor;

·a good reading/speaking voice;

·average reading skills;

·organization or planning skill;

·a good driving record;

·a clear criminal history;

·two references

·access to a car with proof of insurance;

a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage
