About this Opportunity

The Career Guidance and Mentorship Sub-Team plays a vital role in assisting volunteers to align their career paths with their Ikigai. Here is a suggested roadmap for this team:

  • Understand Volunteer Aspirations: The first step is to understand the career aspirations of the volunteers. This could be done through one-on-one meetings, surveys, or group discussions. Understand what each volunteer loves, what they are good at, what the world needs, and what they can be paid for to identify their Ikigai.

  • Develop a Mentorship Program: Create a mentorship program where experienced volunteers or professionals can guide less experienced individuals. The mentors will provide support, share their knowledge, and assist in skill development. The mentor-mentee relationship should be based on the volunteer's career goals and Ikigai.

  • Career Guidance Sessions: Conduct career guidance sessions where volunteers can learn about different career paths, understand the skills required, and align their career goals with their Ikigai.

  • Skill Development: Collaborate with the Learning and Development Sub-Team to identify the skills volunteers need to achieve their career goals. Develop training programs or workshops to address these skill gaps.

  • Networking Opportunities: Organize networking events where volunteers can connect with professionals in their field of interest. These interactions can provide valuable insights and open up new opportunities.

  • Track Progress: Regularly check in with the volunteers to understand their progress towards their career goals. Provide support and guidance as needed.

  • Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from volunteers on the mentorship program and the career guidance provided. Use this feedback to improve the program and better support the volunteers.

  • Collaboration with Other Teams: Collaborate with other sub-teams to ensure that the career guidance and mentorship align with the overall objectives of the organization.
