About this Opportunity
This event will bring together community members, advocates, researchers and providers to promote education and action around prostate cancer equity in the Black community. Prostate cancer equity means that everyone should have a fair opportunity to prevent, treat and survive prostate cancer, regardless of race, sexual orientation, financial resources, physical abilities or where they live. The symposium will also provide an opportunity to engage in co-learning designed to facilitate greater awareness and understanding between patients, providers and researchers.
Purpose
Communicate the ZERO mission and ways to engage, give people space to tell their stories, and increase awareness of prostate cancer screenings. The overall goal of the event is to bring greater awareness of health issues that can impact our workforce and their families, offer educational opportunities, and show how diversity impacts health care decisions.
Role
You’ll connect with community members, sharing resources, and helping make the event a warm and inviting space for everyone. - Set up the resource table with a tablecloth, resources & information - Attend the event & interact with guests on behalf of ZERO Prostate Cancer - Communicate ways to engage with the organization
