  • Select and recommend materials, furniture, lighting, and color schemes that support the exhibit's concept and atmosphere.
  • Ensure the design is functional, accessible, and in compliance with museum standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A background in interior design, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills, with an eye for detail and spatial design.
  • Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools) is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with museum staff and external vendors.
  • A passion for museums, art, and creating meaningful experiences for visitors.

Time Commitment:

  • Estimated 10-15 hours per week leading up to the exhibit opening.
  • Flexible hours, with the ability to work remotely on design concepts and in person for installations.

Benefits:

  • Gain hands-on experience in museum exhibit design.
  • Enhance your portfolio with a public project.
  • Network with professionals in the museum and design fields.
  • Be part of a team creating a memorable cultural experience for the community.
