About this Opportunity

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a Event volunteer โ€”someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves social media.

The Virtual Fair Volunteer is responsible for:

  • Support the smooth execution of the event, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees
  • Help ensure the virtual fair platform is properly set up, including testing video and audio
  • Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment online
  • Help facilitate attendee participation by encouraging interaction within virtual booths, sessions and breakout rooms
  • Positively representing YRES online
  • Punctual and present throughout the entirety of the event

Shift: 10:00am - 12:00pm

Who We're Looking For:

โœ” Minimum age: 12

โœ” Able to independently arrive to work on time

โœ” Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn

โœ” Can commit to scheduled time of event

โœ” Fluency in English

โœ” Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managinig multiple tasks

Bonus Skills:

โœ” Previous experience in event planning and coordinating

โœ” Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English considered an asset

โœ” Proficiency with event management softwares and common office tools (Microsoft Office, Zoom etc.)
