About Us

Powered By Love is a people-powered nonprofit committed to uplifting unhoused and marginalized communities by providing essential resources such as hygiene supplies, clean water, school supplies, clothing, and food as well as capacity-building support like grant writing services and access to our Learning Management System (LMS). Through our approach of love in action, we address everyday needs, expand opportunities, inspire hope, and promote lasting change with a strong commitment to social justice.

Opportunity

We are forming our Board of Directors and seeking 5–6 passionate leaders who want to help build and guide a new nonprofit from the ground up. As a board member, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape Powered By Love’s vision, strengthen its programs, and ensure its sustainability for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide governance, oversight, and strategic guidance
• Serve as an ambassador and advocate for Powered By Love
• Contribute expertise in areas such as fundraising, finance, nonprofit governance, law, communications, or community engagement
• Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in person)
• Support fundraising efforts (through personal giving and/or outreach)
• Help recruit future board members and volunteers

Ideal Candidates

We welcome individuals who:

• Are passionate about social justice and our mission to uplift unhoused and marginalized communities
• Bring professional experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, finance, law, marketing, community engagement, or related areas
• Have strong community networks and a willingness to leverage them in support of our mission
• Can contribute both time and resources to grow a new organization

Commitment

• Term: 2 years (renewable)
• Time: ~5 hours/month (including meetings and committee work)
• Contribution: A personally meaningful financial contribution and/or active role in fundraising
