About this Opportunity
WHAT:
The YWCA Youth Education team is looking for volunteers to join our Guide to Highschool program.
- Work with a team of staff & volunteers to deliver an 8
week, fully prepared, after-school program.
Discuss and facilitate games about topics like friendship, sports/clubs, stress management, resisting peer pressure, dealing with bullies and other high school related topics.
WHY:
Earn 30-35 hours of university-qualified volunteer hours in youth education, non-profit, social service and facilitation. Engage with your local community, meet new people and support your upcoming youth leaders.
This role will also help you build skills in leadership, group management, conflict intervention, critical & creative thinking, problem-solving, public speaking, and community building.

Wednesday, March 26th 2:00-4:00pm via Microsoft Teams
In Person Facilitation Training
Saturday April 5th 9am - 4pm

A local high school in Burnaby, Richmond or Surrey. Placements will be decided during the interview process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
No prior experience is needed. Volunteers will receive high-quality YWCA training and an Inclusive Leadership & Facilitation Certificate upon completing a minimum of 75% of the program
Volunteers must provide a criminal record check and complete all training before the program.
You will be contacted after your interview with instructions for the CRC (Criminal Record Check)
