Food Pantry Volunteer - South End

General Description:

ABCD’s network of neighborhood offices are the first point of contact for many individuals and families in need of critical services. The Food Pantry Volunteer will assist staff in the daily operations of the pantry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Organize and categorize food
• Move and unbox deliveries
• Carry packages and food for clients, including up and down several flights of stairs
• Prepare supplies for food pantry services
• Refer clients to staff for further assistance

Skills & Qualifications:

• Able to multi-task and respond to multiple requests simultaneously.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to lift bags of food and boxes (up to 35 lbs)

Length of Commitment:

ASAP - ongoing

Days Needed:

Two Fridays/month 9am-12pm
