Surgery Waiting Room Volunteer

Provide clear, helpful information and accurate directions to surgical patients and guests, while maintaining a positive attitude. Surgery Waiting volunteers will act as a liaison between physicians, nurses, and patients' loved ones. Duties include answering phones, assisting in the 'tracking' of patients before, during and after surgery, keeping waiting room tidy, and utilizing the surgery schedule to provide authorized patient information. Volunteers should feel comfortable initiating contact with patient’s families to determine any needs they may have.
