Be a friend to a Hospice Patient!

Halcyon Home is looking for volunteers for our Hospice patients in the Austin Area!

As a Hospice volunteer, you play a crucial role in patient care. You can gain great personal satisfaction from knowing that you have made an impact on someone's end of life transition and their entire family network. Just by providing the smallest bit of support for these families, you will be an important member of the hospice team, remembered by their friends and family for years to come.

Volunteers make this impact in a multitude of ways:

• Direct patient care
• Administrative assistance

What does this look like?

Our volunteers read to patients, play music or create art with them, share stories and quality time, celebrate birthdays, and much more!

You tell us what interests you have, or any special skills you'd like to share, and we will match you to a patient with similar interests. No medical experience needed- just a caring heart! We offer flexible scheduling and provide the training and everything you'll need to get started.

How can I get started?

• Interview: Here, we'll discuss your interests and get to know more about your goals as a Hospice volunteer

• See below for the minimum requirements*
• Orientation: Provides an overview on Halcyon Home, Hospice, and much more
• First Visit: Once 1-3 are complete, we will match you with a patient and accompany you on your first visit!
