Role Overview

As a Volunteer Grant Writer, you will research grant opportunities, craft persuasive proposals, and help manage the grant submission process. This role is perfect for someone who wants to use their writing and research skills to make a tangible difference in the fight against hunger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Write clear, compelling, and mission-driven grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
  • Collaborate with pantry leadership to gather data, success stories, and budget details for proposals.
  • Track application deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and thank-you letters for funders.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit work (preferred but not required).
  • Passionate about addressing hunger and supporting the community.
  • Comfortable working independently and communicating remotely.
