About this Opportunity
Are you passionate about public speaking and helping young people find their voice?
Join U+ Gavel Club as a Youth Public Speaking Mentor Volunteer and support youth aged 8 - 18 as they build confidence, leadership skills, and communication abilities in a fun, supportive environment!
This is a great opportunity to share your speaking skills, develop mentorship experience, and contribute to the personal growth of the next generation of leaders.
What You’ll Do:
- Encourage and support students as they deliver prepared and impromptu speeches
- Provide constructive feedback to help youth improve their public speaking and presentation skills
- Guide students in understanding and taking on meeting roles
- Help foster a respectful, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants
- Attend and participate in weekly or biweekly club meetings (online or in person)

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to learn! Ideal candidates will meet the following:
✔ Age between 12 - 30
✔ Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills
✔ Commitment to completing basic training
✔ Fluent in English
✔ Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)
Bonus Skills
✔ Experience in leadership, whether from school, clubs, work, or volunteer roles
✔ Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English
