Volunteer Coordinator (Help support the Arts)

Location: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid/Remote options available)

Commitment: Flexible hours, minimum 5-10 hours per week

Creative Emajinations is an arts-based nonprofit dedicated to providing underserved children in Kansas City with access to arts education, mentorship, and community outreach programs. We believe in the transformative power of the arts to help children reach their fullest potential.

Position Overview:

The Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in managing and growing our volunteer program. This individual will work closely with staff to recruit, train, and support volunteers for a variety of programs, events, and initiatives. The Volunteer Coordinator will help create an engaging and positive experience for volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and aligned with our mission.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit and engage volunteers for various Creative Emajinations programs and events.
• Organize volunteer orientations and training sessions.
• Maintain and update volunteer records.
• Develop and implement volunteer retention strategies to ensure long-term involvement.
• Communicate regularly with volunteers to keep them informed about upcoming opportunities and events.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules for programs and events, ensuring adequate coverage.
• Assist with volunteer recognition efforts and appreciation events.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for working with volunteers and fostering community engagement.
• Previous experience in volunteer management or coordination (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and adaptable, with a positive and solution-focused attitude.
• Experience with databases or volunteer management systems is a plus.
